About Susan


Susan is both a photographer and a watercolour artist.  Initially taking photos as reference for her art work, her artistic eye comes into play when composing images in the camera.  As requests for her images have increased, the time she spends with the camera is taking precedence.  

Susan's Photography

Susan is passionate about her photography.

Her love of landscapes, flowers, birds influences her choice of subjects. Portraiture has become a favourite too. Travel has given Susan lots of inspiration for her landscapes. Purely by popular demand Susan is focusing on images of France, Italy and Western Australia.

Susan is an active member of the WA Camera Club Inc and enjoys participating in the monthly competition night.

Susan's photography hangs in private collections around the world.

June 2013 - Susan is very proud to have her image of Busselton Jetty hanging as a large canvas in the Honourable Speaker's office Parliament House Western Australia.

July 25 - September 10 2013 Digital exhibition See Me Gallery in Long Island New York in 'The Story of the Creative' an international exhibition with artists and photographers from over 100 countries.

September 20 2016 National Photography Awards Perth Royal Show - 3rd prize Mono  'Up to a Point'

October 2 2016 Busselton Five-O/WAPF As Time Goes By digital competition - 3rd prize 'Old Time Music'

May 2017  WA Photographic Federation Inter-Club Competition. Four of Susan's images have been selected, in the Mono Section with 'Morning Run' and in Colour Section with 'I'm Cold Mum',
'Market Day' and 'The Potter'  

May 2017   One of 10 finalists Canon Click Awards Landscape section with 'Storm is Coming'  

June 2017   One of 20 finalists of the Photographic section of the 'In My View' book being presented by the  WA Photographic Federation. In t his years theme 'Water's Edge'  Susan's image 'Stepwell Reflections'  Susan's husband Ray is a finalist in the writer's section for a story he wrote about Susan's image.    The final result for both images and stories and the book will be released on 15th December 2017.

September 2017 National Photography Awards at Perth Royal Show. Finalist Open Mono section with three images and finalist Open Colour section 3 images, all from Susan's Indian collection.

September 2017 Susan has one image 'Taking a Dive' in the 360 chosen for a digital display GuruShots - Kodak Moments - Photo Exhibition Usagi Gallery NY, Dumbo, Brooklyn 14-24th September 2017

October 2017 Finalist in the Fremantle International Portrait Award in the inaugural mobile phone section.

October 2017 Finalist Australian Photography Awards with one image in the Documentary section and one image in the Mobile phone section

November 2017  Susan has one image 'The Potter"  in the 360 chosen for a digital display GuruShots - Telling a Story C.A.R Contemporary Art Fair Essen Germany

Susan's Art

Susan has been a watercolourist since 2005 and although her photography has become the main focus in her life, she still loves to paint and meets with a group of friends each week to paint.

Susan lives in Perth Western Australia with her husband Ray.

She has a son and daughter both living in Perth and is blessed with five beautiful grandchildren and six step-grandchildren, whom she loves to spend time with.
