Join us on a photographic journey through Rajasthan's lesser-travelled paths, where ancient forts crown hilltops and traditional life continues unchanged in rural villages. Our adventure begins in Delhi, from where we journey to ONE OF the most beautiful building in India “TAJ MAHAL”, a UNESCO World Heritage site whose beautiful work of inlaid with precious and semi precious stones. The Taj Mahal is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the right bank of the river Yamuna in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was commissioned in 1631 by the fifth Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal; it also houses the tomb of Shah Jahan himself.
The Agra Fort ... The Agra Fort (Qila Agra) is a historical Mughal fort in the city of Agra, also known as Agra's Red Fort. Mughal emperor Humayun was crowned at this fort in 1530. It was later renovated by the Mughal emperor Akbar from 1565 and the present-day structure was completed in 1573.
We then venture to the enchanting town of Fatehpur Sikri, Fatehpur Sikri is a small city in northern India, just west of Agra, founded by a 16th-century Mughal emperor. Red sandstone buildings cluster at its center. Buland Darwaza gate is the entrance to Jama Masjid mosque. Nearby is the marble Tomb of Salim Chishti. Diwan-E-Khas hall has a carved central pillar. Jodha Bais Palace is a mix of Hindu and Mughal styles, next to the 5-story Panch Mahal that overlooks the site
Our photographic adventure continues to the Ranthambore National Park is a vast wildlife reserve near the town of Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan, northern India. It is a former royal hunting ground and home to tigers, leopards and marsh crocodiles. Its landmarks include the imposing 10th-century Ranthambore Fort, on a hilltop, and the Ganesh Mandir temple. Also in the park, Padam Talao Lake is known for its abundance of water lilies. We will use a model for photography in the fort.
Pushkar is a temple town near Ajmer City and headquarters of Pushkar tehsil in the Ajmer district in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is situated about 10 km northwest of Ajmer and about 150 kilometres southwest of Jaipur. It is a pilgrimage site for Hindus and Sikhs. Pushkar has many temples.
The culmination of our photo tour brings us to the spectacular Pushkar Camel Fair, one of India's most colourful and photogenic festivals. Over two full days, we'll document this extraordinary gathering where thousands of camels and cattle traders converge amid swirling dust and golden light. We'll capture the vibrant atmosphere of camel trading, folk performances, and traditional bazaars, while also photographing devotees taking ritual dips in the sacred Pushkar Lake at dawn. The fair offers unparalleled opportunities to photograph both the grand spectacle of massed camels against the desert landscape and intimate portraits of traders and pilgrims.
Jaipur is the capital of India’s Rajasthan state. It evokes the royal family that once ruled the region and that, in 1727, founded what is now called the Old City, or “Pink City” for its trademark building color. At the center of its stately street grid (notable in India) stands the opulent, colonnaded City Palace complex. With gardens, courtyards and museums, part of it is still a royal residence.
Throughout the journey, we’ll focus not just on the grand architecture and festivals, but on intimate moments of daily life that make Rajasthan uniquely photogenic: local artisans at work in ancient market places, villagers tending their fields, and the timeless rhythms of life in rural India. This is a rare opportunity to build a portfolio of images that captures both the grandeur and intimate details of India's most colourful state.
The adventure will be led by Atik Ahmed, an Indian national who is a tour operator with a deep understanding of the culture, history, and traditions of the region. The 09D/08N tour will run from 29th October – 6th November 2025, overlapping the end of our main Rajasthan tour.
It’s a perfect opportunity to discover the lesser-known parts of this colourful Indian state and is currently open at a special price of US$3550 including all accommodation, all meals, transport, entrance fees, Jungle Safari, Camel cart ride and so forth. Please get in touch for more details of this exciting new tour.
